Happy Halloween!

We went to Spooner Farms in Puyallup WA last week to pick out our pumpkins, and went through a fun corn maze! We took our niece Stasha (my new Carryall tote (below) is named after her!) with us. Pictured: Stasha (left), Emilie (right) and Logan (center) We had a fantastic time!

Custom made shutters - by me!

I recently decided to make shutters for the outside window of our new home we bought in the View Ridge neighborhood of Seattle. What a task! I went to Home Depot and bought the wood, primed it, painted it red with 4 coats of paint then screwed the wood together with exterior screws. I then ordered the iron hardware from an online company. I love the results and get comments all the time!

The shutters before were too small for the window!

Sloan and Emilie all grown up!

My girls all grown up - This photo was taken in our kitchen just before Madison Sloan went off to College. We sure miss her!

Murphy kids - Summer 2007

Emilie went to England to nanny for a good friend of mine in the summer of 2007. We had a going away party for her where family friends wished her farewell for the summer.

Our Amazing Walt Disney World Wedding

Nathan and I were the first couple to get married at Disney World in Orlando Florida. Our
wedding was televised, Disney paid for everything and we were on a couple talk shows.... It was AMAZING!

Design Studio at Home

As a seamstress, scrapbooker, ancestry buff and new bag designer (emiliesloan.com), I have been needing and wanting a craft room/design studio since I was in Middle School! We recently bought an older home in a nice Seattle neighborhood that we absolutely love. The house is big enough for me, my husband, our three growing kids, one cat, one dog and my enormous amount of "artsy stuff", which was a huge plus for me! There is an unfinished room in the basement, we call it "the wine room" although it has never had wine in it - just x-mas stuff, luggage, etc. Anyway, I decided to make this small (it's only 5 x 9) room into a very efficient design studio. Very exciting. If you like to design like me, you know what I am talking about - it's a dream come true to have all my "stuff" all in one place. I'm considering putting a lock on the door to keep my kids out...they like to take my sewing scissors and cut wire and do things with my supplies that really make me turn on the Motherly love. Here are some photos of other bloggers' craft rooms and studios for inspiration. If you have any other ideas please don't be shy and share! :)
